Media Training

I’ve never forgotten my Features Writing course with Helen. Other training courses I attended had, I fear, gone in one ear and straight out the other, so I was somewhat cynical about the benefits of her two-day session. However, from the moment I and my fellow students entered the room, we were in the hands of someone who knows her business, from all angles, and who has the ability to convey it to others simply, clearly, effectively and in an inspiring way.”
Arabella St John Parker, Houses & Gardens Editor, Homes & Gardens

Helen is an inspired course leader with a wealth of experience in media training, having taught previously at the London College of Communications (where she herself trained), where she launched the first post-grad qualification in Journalism.

Helen has designed and run editorial training courses for nearly all major publishing companies including Time Inc, Hearst Magazines, Haymarket, EMAP, Future and many others, teaching subjects such as Interviewing Techniques, Feature Writing and Writing Skills.

Typically, Helen’s courses are designed to run over two full days with a half-day follow-up six to eight weeks later. This is to ensure that those attending have the opportunity to try out what they have learnt in their own editorial role, before a final tutorial designed to reinforce the essential points covered.
